Across the ages, countless civilizations have recorded encounters with three seemingly unrelated beings: an ancient Ashen Dragon who safeguarded forgotten knowledge, a wandering High Fae scholar who appeared at pivotal moments in history, and a silent Veilborn Wolf that guided the lost through the spaces between worlds.
Whether these are three individuals, three incarnations of the same soul, or merely different interpretations of a single truth remains unknown. The gods themselves offer no answer.
What all accounts share is this: the Witness does not seek worship, power, or dominion. It neither commands destiny nor alters it by force. Instead, it preserves the stories that deserve to be remembered, offers wisdom to those willing to listen, and ensures that no soul walks the final road alone.
Its ancient sigil appears throughout the world upon forgotten shrines, weathered journals, hidden libraries, and relics of lost civilizations. Wherever it is found, one truth soon follows:

The oldest and most revered aspect of the Threefold Witness, the Ashen Dragon embodies memory, wisdom, and legacy. Its scales resemble cooled obsidian, threaded with veins of living ember that glow only when ancient magic stirs. Rather than amassing treasure, the Keeper gathers histories, forgotten languages, sacred relics, and the stories of civilizations that time has nearly erased.
Within hidden archives known only to a handful of scholars, every triumph, tragedy, and sacrifice is preserved against oblivion. The Keeper rarely intervenes in mortal affairs, believing that history must unfold through choice rather than design. Yet when it finally emerges from centuries of silence, entire ages remember the moment.
Its greatest gift is not its devastating ember breath, but its unwavering refusal to let truth be forgotten.

Where the Keeper watches from afar, the Walker moves among the living. Appearing as an unassuming High Fae scholar draped in dark robes, this aspect seeks knowledge not for power, but for understanding. He wanders kingdoms, ruins, libraries, and forgotten temples, offering guidance only to those who ask—and never demanding that its counsel be followed.
Heroes remember the Walker as a mentor. Kings recall a quiet advisor who vanished before claiming reward. Children know only a mysterious traveler with endless stories.
The Walker believes that wisdom has little value unless it inspires others to choose their own path. Every lesson offered is an invitation, never a command.

The final aspect walks the silent roads between worlds.
Unlike the black wolves that serve Revan or the white wolves that accompany Naver, the Veilborn Wolf belongs to neither death nor rebirth alone. It appears only to those who have lost their way—souls burdened by regret, travelers stranded between realms, or wanderers standing before impossible choices.
It neither judges nor persuades. It simply walks beside them until they find the strength to continue.
Its spectral form fades like mist beneath moonlight, its luminous eyes reflecting neither sorrow nor joy, but quiet understanding. Those fortunate enough to meet the Guide often remember little of the journey itself, only the strange certainty that they were never truly alone.

To the dwarves, it is the Ember of Memory, marking places where history must never be forgotten.
To the High Fae, it is the Open Eye, symbolizing wisdom earned through observation rather than judgment.
Among those who walk the Veil, it is known simply as the Endless Road, a reminder that every journey is but one point upon an eternal cycle.
