Regions: Dumraskald, Eldazhul, Zhulmar, Dunmarra, and Skalvyr.
The farthest reaches of Arcainia are lands of killing cold, endless white horizons, black pine forests, frozen seas, and mountains that vanish into storm clouds. Few permanent settlements survive here. Most people live in sparse, nomadic tribes, following herds, seasonal thaws, auroras, and old ancestral paths known only to those born beneath the winter sky.
These regions are home to the Jotunari, frost giantfolk who favor the mountains, glaciers, and storm-lashed coasts, and the Rimethir, frost elves who dwell in the taiga and frozen forests. The two peoples are ancient rivals, constantly balanced on the edge of war. The Jotunari trust strength, endurance, and open challenge; the Rimethir favor patience, cunning, and the silent knife beneath the snow.
Outsiders rarely understand the difference. They usually do not live long enough to learn it.
In the Far North and South, survival is not guaranteed by courage alone. The cold steals breath, beasts hunt through blizzards, and entire camps can vanish beneath a single night’s snowfall. Rival tribes may kill you, yes—but the land itself usually gets the first chance.
