The Game Master is not bound by reality, but lingers in the spaces between truths, where possibility fractures and reforms. He does not rule these realms, but watches them—measuring, weighing, and, when necessary, intervening.
Only the chosen few—the "Players"—know of his existence, marked by fleeting glimpses of the multiverse he calls "The Game". Whether this knowledge is a gift or a burden is never made clear.
To those who perceive him, he often appears as a hooded wolf-headed figure, black-furred and wreathed in drifting cinders. Yet his form is never fixed. Gods, mortals, and beasts alike may become his voice, their words bending subtly toward his will. For this, some name him the God of Many Faces—but even that is an approximation.
He does not guide without reason, nor does he act without consequence. When he speaks, it is not to command, but to present a choice—and to observe what follows.
His marks are scattered across the worlds: the dodecahedron of chance, the cloak of the unseen hand, and the countless masks that conceal as much as they reveal. Where they appear, so too does the quiet implication that nothing is entirely random—and nothing is entirely certain.
R. Kloka is the creator of Arcainia, a fantasy world he has been shaping since his first roll of the dice in 2014. An experienced Dungeon Master of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition and the 2024 ruleset, he brings a deep commitment to storytelling to both the gaming table and the page.
A Michigan native, he studies Teaching English Language Arts at Central Michigan University, where he is preparing to guide the next generation of storytellers. Outside the classroom, he writes, reads relentlessly, and rarely strays far from the pull of dice and dragons.
